HINDS – On 22nd September, 2023. LEONARD GUILER HINDS (B.S.M) age 87, of Bank Hall Main Road and 2nd Avenue Dash Road, Bank Hall, St. Michael. Retired Chief Officer of Her Majesty’s Prison. Partner of the late Myrtle Bridgeman  Hinds. Father of Wendy Lascelles (Canada), Jacqueline Bridgeman Gaskin, Kay, Wayne, Cheryl and Steve Bridgeman. Grandfather of Roseann Rouse (USA), Julia Bridgeman and Donna Forrest (Canada), Michelle, Gladstone, Karen, Kevin, Corey, Rico, Shamer, Britney, Jamal and the late Liam Bridgeman and Kerry Worrell. Great grandfather of Tiffany, Tania, Terrel, Tashane, T’Kyra, Aaron, Tajaerie, Tashawn Bridgeman, Joshua Carter and six others. Great great grandfather of two. Brother of Donald-Basil Hinds, Sheila Hinds (London), Shirley Hinds Oaks (USA), Vanburn, Dalton, Elizabeth (USA) and Joyce Smith and the late Leslie Hinds (London), Rudolph Hinds and Alvery Guiler (USA).  Uncle of Judith Hinds-Gittens, Emily Cathy Oaks (Texas)) Jeanette (New York), Karl Smith and many others. Great Uncle of many. Father-in-law of Collis Lascelles and Maurice Gaskin. Brother-in-Law of the late Eletha Hinds and Vere Hinds. Cousin of Patricia Waithe and many others. Relative of the Hinds, Guiler, Bridgeman and Waithe family. Friend of Merlene Cheltenham Gilbert White and Hugh Archer.  The funeral leaves Bryan’s Funeral Home, Belmont Road, St. Michael on Thursday, 12th October, 2023 for St. Leonard’s Church Westbury Road, St. Michael, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. for a service of thanksgiving and interment. Organist and members of the church choir are kindly asked to attend. Viewing of the late Leonard Hinds will take place in the Michael Bryan Memorial Chapel, Bryan’s Funeral Home Belmont Road, St. Michael on Wednesday 11th October 2023 from 3-5pm. CECIL ANTHONY BRUCE SMITH

SMITH – On 28th September, 2023. CECIL ANTHONY BRUCE 85 years, of #31 Bannatyne Gardens, Christ Church. Son of the late Neville and Vivian Smith. Husband of Catherine Smith. Father of Suelan (Andrew) Hart and Gail (Garth) Thong. Brother of Roy Smith, June Whitney (Canada), Rosemarie Callahan (Canada) and the late Astor Smith. Grandfather of Dominic, Jake and Hayden Hart, Gabriella, Seth and Jose Marie Thong. A memorial service celebrating the life of Cecil Smith takes place on Wednesday, 11th October, 2023 at St. Dominic’s Church Maxwell Main Road, Christ Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:00pm. The inurnment of his ashes will follow in the St. Dominic’s Church Yard.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Dominic’s Chapter will be greatly appreciated. The family will be celebrating his life by wearing colours and invite you to join us if you wish.

The funeral leaves Bryan’s Funeral Home, Belmont Road, St. Michael, on Monday 2nd October, 2023 for Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 11:00am for a service of thanksgiving. Sister of Vernon Nicholls, Genevieve Gittens and Richard Cummins. The funeral leaves Bryan’s Funeral Home, Belmont Road, St. Michael on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2023 for James Street Methodist Church, Bridgetown, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00am for a service of thanksgiving. The cortege will then proceed to the Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church for the interment. No jackets required. Mother of Nicola Farmer, Ashley Farmer, Amanda Garcia and Karen Porter ( David ). Grandmother of James, Alex, Kyle, Finlay, Gracie, Eric, Kade, Ronan and Scarlett. Sister of Ian Searle. A service of thanksgiving for the life of Barbara Anne Farmer-Lewis takes place on Friday, September 22nd 2023 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Maxwell Main Rd, Christ Church at 1pm where relatives and friends are asked to meet. The cortege will then proceed to St. Philip’s churchyard for a private interment for close friends and family. No mourning colours.  In lieu of flowers donations to Variety – The Children’s Charity of Barbados Inc. will be collected at the church.
