CECIL TULLOCH

TULLOCH – CECIL, On July 23rd 2026, our family bade a heartfelt farewell to a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Cecil, affectionately known as “Bunty” to those closest to him, was born on Easter Sunday in 1928 and spent his early years in Guyana before travelling to England to study law. It was in London that he met Beryl whom he married on December 22, 1954. Together, they returned to Guyana to begin their life as a young couple. In 1960 Bunty accepted a position as a magistrate in Barbados where he and his family settled permanently. Over the decades that followed he distinguished himself through dedicated public service rising to the positions of Solicitor General and Director of Public Prosecutions. Bunty was happiest when surrounded by family. His calm nature and gentle humour created a home filled with warmth, stability and laughter. Music was a constant thread in the Tulloch household. Whether he was quietly listening to classical pieces or playing his keyboard he found joy in sharing melodies with others. He was a steadfast and loving partner to his wife Beryl and a dedicated father to his children Howard and Nicole (“Nikki”). His long and full life allowed him the privilege of watching his three grandchildren grow into the remarkable adults they are today. In his final weeks he was blessed with the opportunity to spend time with his great grandchildren, a comfort and joy to him and to all of us. The Tulloch family would like to thank all our friends, relatives and those who made Bunty’s life comfortable and enjoyable over the last few years. It is deeply appreciated.
