Wendy Margaret Gomes

GOMES – WENDY MARGARET

August 14, 1940 – December 1, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Margaret Gomes, daughter of the late George L. W. and Margaret Clarke, and beloved wife of the late J. Aubrey Gomes. Wendy was the cherished mother of Andrew (Brenda) and Bradley (Eva) and a proud grandmother to Niklas and Marcus. She is also fondly remembered by her sister Patricia, niece Michelle, cousins, and all the Gomes family.

Wendy’s ashes will be buried privately alongside her husband at Westbury Cemetery. Following the burial, friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Wendy’s life at the Barbados Yacht Club on March 12th, from 4 to 6 PM.

Her legacy of love and kindness will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Father-in-law of Bruce, Amanda, and the late Gordon. Beloved grandfather of Kaley, Nicholas, Matthew, Oliver, Emma, James and Marcus. Brother of Maureen and Michael and the late Mavis, Eileen, Ena and Doreen. Brother-in-law of the late David Christie and David Callaghan. Former father-in-law of Nicholas Hughes. Relative of the Correia and Christie families in Guyana, Canada and UK. A memorial service for the life of Maurice Clement Correia will take place on Wednesday, 5th March 2025 at 3:00 pm at Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church. No mourning colors by special request, please wear all shades of blue. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barbados Association of Palliative Care will be greatly appreciated.

Veronica Yvette Bowen nee Blackman

BOWEN – VERONICA YVETTE, nèe Blackman aged 67, of #26 Kensington Lodge, Passage Road, St. Michael entered peacefully into rest on 13th February 2025. Daughter of the late Noel Bowen and Merle Hoyte. Wife of David Bowen. Mother of Roland Bowen and Ryan Bowen. Sister of Anthony, Lawrence and Desmond Blackman, Sonia Lewis, Tracey Hoyte, and the late Richard Blackman. Aunt of Dwight, Dionne, Lemar, Charlene, Kerry, DrewMyan, Antoine, Kyle, Naomi, and Shanika. Relative and friend of many. The funeral leaves Bryan’s Funeral Home, Belmont Road, St. Michael on Saturday, 8th March 2025 for The New Dimensions Ministries, Barbarees Hill, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 pm for a service of thanksgiving. The cortege will then proceed to the Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens for the interment. Flowers may be sent to Bryan’s Funeral Home, not later than 11:00 am on Saturday. GILL – LYNDA, of Mill House, Prior Park Close, St James. Daughter of the late Arthur and Hilda Hart. Adored Wife of Richard Charles Gill. Mother of Carolyn “Coco” Humphrey (Nick) and Andrew “Andy” Gill (Gina). Grandmother of Logan, Katelyn & Danielle Humphrey and Zachary Gill. Sister of the late Brian A. Hart (Janice). Aunt of Jamie Gallant (Jay) and Adam Hart (Katie), Deborah Thurley (Steve), Stephanie McNeill (Scott) & Lawrence Gill. Cousin and Friend of many, including Marianne Marshall nee Goddard, Beverley Marshall nee Goddard, Marcia Croney, and the late Jasmine Davis nee Croney and Yvette Marshall, and many others.

A thanksgiving service and celebration of life for Lynda Gill will take place on Thursday, 27th February 2025 at St. James Parish Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00am. An inurnment will take place afterwards in the churchyard.  Mourning clothes are optional.

Sister of Gareth Villanueva (Jocelyn – deceased), Gordon Villanueva (Daphne – deceased) and Jennifer Hunt (David).
